Its So hot here these past few days..our heat is a horrible damp 'clammy' heat..not like some European countries where the heat is dry and a little more bearable.....I do worry about the animals in these conditions, so i rooted through the garden shed & found this old umbrella, a bit scruffy but it helps to shade Sebs hutch a little... the cats just want to stay indoors.....Martha has the right idea...get close to some water.

Poor Seb..when raising 4-H and meat rabbits..keeping them cool was one of the hardest things as they are more susceptible to die in the heat than from the cold. Here in Nevada,it can get to 100 degrees, not humid but a dry heat. We would freeze 2 litter plastic bottles of water and lay them in the cage next to the bunnies to help cool them down. I have only been in very humid heat once and it made me very sick so please take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea..i would not have thought of that...i will put some bottles in the freezer tonight..and use them tomorrow..Thank you Kay.
ReplyDeleteIt global warming at its finest. The heat is dreadful isn't it? Poor Seb!! Hope he will be ok in all that hot weather. Take care of yourself Joy, dont get too hot. I hope you have air conditioning in your home??
ReplyDeleteI WISH...very few homes have air conditioning over here..although you can buy it, but it is expensive.....we rarely get these sort of temperatures and they only usually last a few days when we do..i have got fans in every room..they help a little..but not as much as air con would...lots of cars have air con in them....i'd sit in my car if it had it..sadly this one doesn't...LOL..my previous 4x4 car did and it was wonderful in summertime..wish when i changed i had took that into consideration..i brought this for fuel economy etc...but i regret it at the moment.
ReplyDeleteIt has been very hot here. I have a great tan, with out trying! We do get a cool down in the evening, very nice! Stay cool friend! Love, Kerry
